We believe all dogs deserve the same respect and opportunities irrespective of breed, background or size. We pride ourselves on walking the dogs who have been judged by their size, breed or reactions. We promote positive handling and responsible ownership.
Our Ethos
Big Paw Walks wants to stand out, we’re not ‘just dog walkers’. We will assist in training, positive behaviour, socialisation, and comfort the dogs who need a little more patience to learn trust.
We offer solo walks, pop in visits, house sitting services and small group walks of up to 3 dogs.
Our solo walks are best suited to dogs who need extra care and attention, perhaps to practice recall or behaviour around wildlife.
Our group walks are best suited to dogs who enjoy the company of others, have basic recall and have trustworthy behaviour around wildlife.
For dogs who wish to socialise but aren’t quite ready for groups, our own dogs have been trained to be neutral, patient and set clear boundaries, so we’d love to introduce you!
My dogs
As a cane corso owner, being judged based of looks is unfortunately something I have learned to live with.
My first dog, Skye (the grey one) came to me as a romanian import at 3 months old, I co-owned her with an old friend who unfortunately chose to breed her underage. At age 2, I became Skyes full time owner and have since trained her to be the dog she is today, in 2024 she completed a behaviour assessment where she qualified as a therapy dog for Therapy Dogs Nationwide.
Skye is calm, gentle, neutral and the perfect dog for dogs who are nervous, or need someone to guide them through.
She can be taken anywhere, a cafe, a shop, a busy high street, a dog festival, her presence offers calmness and trust.
Zeus (the formentino) is a one year old boy who I rescued not long ago. Zeus is still undergoing training, and as he reaches maturity he still has a lot to learn about life. He is another example of how this breed is so misunderstood and has so much to offer. He is quick to learn, he has a passion for life, he has energy you cannot ignore and is a great asset to my family.
